Why does the Power Barrow Company use Polypropylene buckets?
We considered the cost of the heavy buckets used by the competition and decided they were too expensive, especially considering that after a week on the job site they would be well beaten up. By changing to the Polypropylene buckets we not only reduced the cost of the machine by approximately $200 but we reduced the weight of the machine by 30 lbs. Our poly bucket has an 1/8th steel plate on the bottom of the bucket on both the inside and the outside effectively giving the base a 1/4 Inch of steel where it is needed most, on the BOTTOM!!! Our approach to the bucket is that, it is a CONSUMABLE which can be replaced every two years.
Why did you decide to offer a wider range of products?
After 4 years of making high quality POWER BARROWS we realized that “one size does not fit all” By expanding the range, to reflect the demands of the consumer, we are seeing significant sales growth especially in the larger machines 10 cube and 8 cube. These sizes are much more productive and profitable than the 6 cube which is more suited for residential applications.
How would you rate your quality against competitors?
Good question. We rate our quality much higher than competitive machines. We all use the same Engine (Honda GXV 160 ) and transmission (Peerless) and usually the same cable and lever suppliers. The area where we are much better positioned to exceed the competitor’s quality is in the STEEL WORK. Our Florida based metal fabricator does work for NASA, the US Military and is US Government Approved. They have been in business for 55 years but best of all they are only a 45 minute drive from our factory. When there are issues to be resolved or product enhancements to be discussed, it is much more effective and cost efficient to deal locally.
How do I tip the loaded powerised wheelbarrow?
Release the bucket lock lever on the right-hand grip and because the weight in the bucket is forward loaded, the bucket will normally self tip. When necessary a slight lift by hand on the rear of the bucket will cause it to tip.
How easy is the powerised wheelbarrow to steer?
Due to the design and weight distribution, the Power Barrow is as easy to control and steer when fully loaded as when empty. Just apply side pressure to the handles and the transmissions split differential will cause the Power Barrow to change direction.
What gradient will a fully loaded powerised wheelbarrow climb?
Up to 30°.
How simple is the powerised wheelbarrow to service and maintain?
The power barrow has been designed to be durable and easy to maintain and requires no special tools. The transmission is sealed for life and requires no servicing. The brake and belt can be adjusted without removing the covers. The engine air filter and spark plug are instantly accessible. It takes five minutes to change the drive belt. The wheels are easy to change. The body is protected with powdercoat paint, and stainless steel fittings are used to avoid corrosion.
Are spare parts readily available?
All spare parts are kept in stock and speedy delivery is available at any time.
How can the powerised wheelbarrow be transported?
Ramps can be used to load the power barrow in all situations, but the 4WD traction allows the unit to be driven straight onto a trailer, or van. The power barrow easily climbs stairs, drives over footings, building slabs and curbs.
